With headquarters in Innsbruck, Austria, MED-EL has over 3,300 employees around the world. 1 RDVI_12609 Electronics & Embedded Development Engineer (m/f/d) Research & Development Innsbruck Our R&D Vestibular Implant Systems Group develops innovative MED-EL vestibular implant systems for the treatment of balance disorders. We work closely with leading international research centers and clinical partners. Our goal is to sustainably improve the quality of life of people with balance disorders through innovative technologies.

Your Tasks

Design, develop, and verify electronic hardware for embedded medical devices, from concept through product release

Develop and optimize Bluetooth® and RF antenna solutions, including simulation, prototyping, testing, and performance validation

Perform schematic design, select component selection, conduct PCB design reviews, and perform hardware bring-up activities

Execute hardware verification, EMC/RF testing, root-cause analysis, and troubleshooting of complex electronic systems

Contribute to hardware architecture decisions and prepare technical documentation in compliance with applicable quality standards and medical device regulations

Your Profile

Bachelor's degree or higher degree (University, FH) in Electronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Embedded Systems, or a related field

Experience in electronic hardware development, including schematic design, component selection, PCB design, and hardware verification

Knowledge of RF and antenna design principles, preferably for Bluetooth® Low Energy (BLE) or other wireless communication systems

Basic software development skills in C/C++ and/or Rust for embedded platforms, with understanding of microcontrollers and digital interfaces

Independent, analytical and solution-oriented working style, combined with excellent communication skills and a very good command of English
