The TRD QA Team Lead CMC Biologics ensures quality oversight of the CMC project portfolio and appropriate staffing and prioritization within the area of responsibility. The role is accountable for QA release activities in CMC QA Biologics and manages teams, resources, and budgets aligned with TRD QA objectives.

The position promotes a culture of quality, high performance, and trust. It drives operational and strategic alignment with business partners and project stakeholders, ensures GMP compliance in daily activities, and provides servant leadership and quality guidance across TRD Biologics Austria. The role also includes deviation and escalation management.

Key Performance Indicators

· Strong understanding of relevant biology, chemistry, and technology, combined with QA and regulatory expertise across multiple quality domains.

· Effective navigation of ambiguity; solves complex problems, makes informed decisions with incomplete data, and adapts to changing situations.

· Develops team capabilities, manages performance, and ensures talent development, succession planning, team culture, and engagement.

· Makes decisions affecting team and functional outcomes, balances priorities, resolves competing demands, and owns area deliverables with appropriate autonomy.

· Manages headcount and budgets while identifying, discussing, and allocating resources across projects and initiatives.

· Owns compliance outcomes, risk management, mitigation strategies, and regulatory readiness within the team or department. Escalates appropriately and makes risk-based decisions.

· Balances operational execution with strategic input, identifies improvements, contributes to planning, and translates strategy into operational actions.

· Communicates clearly across functions, influences senior stakeholders, and builds strong cross-functional relationships.

· Promotes smart risk-taking and learning from setbacks while creating an environment in which failures become learning opportunities.

· Demonstrates accountability, addresses performance issues, considers broader organizational interests, and drives initiatives with ownership and urgency.

· Acts as a role model for Novartis culture, values, and behaviors.
